Developing Damages Through the Medicine of Lifestyle
Published by Michigan Association for Justice and Ohio Association for Justice

Summary
Serious injuries almost always result in substantial changes in lifestyle. For example, how often have you represented a client who suffered a serious injury and then developed depression, inability to participate in physical activity, or a deterioration of their social network? Sadly, it happens in nearly every case. Yet, as an advocate, have you properly evaluated the damages associated with these lifestyle changes? Have you considered the recent medical literature that analyzes how changes in lifestyle statistically affects one’s morbidity and mortality? This program will highlight some of the recent medical literature and explain how that literature can be used a develop a new approach to non-economic damages.
