In this webinar, Architecture, Construction & Premises Safety Expert Catherine Peterman will look closely at safety practices both on and adjacent to construction sites. Ms. Peterman will discuss typical onsite and offsite safety matters from her perspective as a licensed architect in Ohio who spent many years working with and for contractors. Ms. Peterman will also discuss examples of litigated construction/non-construction injuries through the lens of her forensic casework.
At the end of the session, ample time will be provided for Q&A.
Presenter: Catherine Peterman
Catherine Peterman is a licensed architect with experience in all aspects of architectural practice. She is an expert regarding building and premises safety, building and related codes and standards, accessibility requirements, construction defects and claims, as well as A/E professional liability issues. Her previous clients include government agencies, private corporations, and retail companies.
Catherine has provided professional technical analysis and supervision in every phase of building design and construction. In addition to her experience in design, cost estimating, construction document preparation and construction administration, Catherine is an experienced construction manager. She has designed and overseen construction of pedestrian walkways where pedestrian safety was the primary objective, as well as, renovating existing structures to comply with pedestrian codes. She has evaluated the work of designers and builders for conformance with the applicable standard of care and inspected building materials for signs of wear or decay.
Catherine has a Master of Architecture degree and is licensed in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, and West Virginia. She is board certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and is a certified user of the English XL slip tester. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the International Code Council (ICC), and ASTM International (formerly American Society for Testing Materials).
